I did not learn leadership in a classroom. I learned it through more than 35 years of leading people in professional kitchens, hotels, remote camps, river ships and expedition vessels around the world.

My journey began in Denmark and continued through the Faroe Islands, Prague, the United States, Afghanistan, Mallorca and some of the most remote waters on the planet. I have worked with people from many cultures, often under intense pressure and in environments where communication, trust and accountability were not theories — they were essential.

Behind every title, uniform and position, I found the same truth: organisations do not succeed because of strategies alone. They succeed when people feel seen, heard and trusted enough to take responsibility.

That experience spans hotels, ships, remote operations, conflict zones and boardrooms, across cultures and continents.

Today, I work directly with leaders, teams and organisations that are ready to look honestly at what is working, what is not, and what needs to change. My approach is personal, practical and direct. I listen carefully, observe what others may overlook and ask the questions that are often avoided.

I take the work seriously, but I never forget the people behind it. Every engagement is approached with honesty, discretion and respect.

Beyond White Jacket is not a reinvention. It is the result of everything that came before.

Meet Michael

The work was never only about food.

For more than 35 years, I have led people across hotels, ships, remote operations, conflict zones and boardrooms, across cultures and continents.

Beyond White Jacket grew from one conviction: titles and strategies mean little without trust, ownership and human connection. I now bring that experience into leadership consulting, executive facilitation and international speaking.

Experience earned under pressure.

Luxury hotels. Ships. Remote operations. Conflict zones. International teams. Boardrooms.

Across cultures and continents, the conditions changed—but responsibility never did: lead clearly, build trust and make decisions when pressure leaves nowhere to hide.
